Helping Others

 “For I Was Hungry . . .”

Many times we are stymied in practicing our faith. We think, “What good can I do? I have so little to offer.”  We feel defeated in doing good even before we start, but the truth is that God has given us all many gifts. God can use even the simplest things to achieve His work – a smile for someone who needs one, a kind word, a work of charity, a willing ear  for someone in a difficult situation. When we turn these gifts into offerings, then they become not just our good works but the work of Jesus in us.

At Christ the King we are reminded by the Gospel and the social teachings of the Church to help those in need.  We support all of the parish and local charitable agencies listed below, both financially and through volunteer efforts.  Christ the King is a tithing parish, setting aside ten percent of stewardship for charitable causes.  We are committed to using every available resource to provide services to those less fortunate - the sick, the elderly, the disadvantaged, or those with other special needs.

If you believe the age of miracles is not over – that it’s just getting started – come, do your part!

If you would like to help with one of the agencies listed below, contact the Director of Parish Life & Outreach, at 501.225.6774.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you invited me in; I needed clothes and you clothed me; I was sick and you looked after me; I was in prison and you came to visit me . . . I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”  (Mt 25:35-36;40)
